Mining companies could run vaccination programs for FIFO workers13/04/2021|2min
Mining companies could be allowed to operate vaccination programs for FIFO workers, after Prime Minister Scott Morrison voiced the possibility.
The West Australian is reporting the idea was raised by Prime Minister Scott Morrison while he was flying to Western Australia for the first time in 537 days.
The PR Counsel’s Kristy McSweeney commented on the idea, saying the government is “aware that it has to do something to get mass workforces vaccinated”.
“They’ve put their hope into these two vaccines,” she told Sky News host Peter Gleeson.
“I think what the prime minister is floating the idea around here is potentially rapid testing.”
Adelaide University rejects research projects over risks associated with China13/04/2021|2min
The PR Counsel’s Kristy McSweeney says Adelaide University is “doing the right thing” in rejecting research projects worth millions in revenue due to risks regarding links to China.
The Adelaide Advertiser is reporting the university also knocked back other research collaborations with unidentified foreign universities over links to a nuclear weapons program.
“Adelaide University is being quite politically smart, and working closely with the government’s direction I would say to be transparent,” Ms McSweeney told Sky News host Peter Gleeson.
“That would put them in really good stead as they negotiate with the government to perhaps be one of the first universities … to have the international education restarted.”
