COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A new visitation policy began Wednesday at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital.
According to the hospital’s website, Piedmont Columbus Regional has updated it’s visitation policy at its Midtown and Northside locations. The new policy allows for no visitation at all, outside of specifically outlined scenarios, like labor and delivery, pediatric patients, and end of life, to name a few.

OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) - Opelika police have charged a man with murder after a shooting on Chester Ave. claimed a manâs life earlier in the week.
33-year-old Cordezmond Harris was arrested Wednesday afternoon on charges of murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling or vehicle.
Police were called to the 100 block of Chester Ave. Tuesday in reference to someone being shot.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Some people 65 and older may have problems registering online for a COVID-19 vaccination appointment simply because they are not familiar with the technology.
Phase 1A, of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s distribution plan continues to ramp up in the Chattahoochee Valley and surrounding areas. Healthcare providers everywhere are vaccinating more and more people as the next phase of the distribution plan is on the horizon.
However, the experience for many people has not been the same. Some people have had fairly simple experiences with registering to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, while others claim to be struggling.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital began distributing the COVID-19 vaccine to staff and patients, as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Preventionâs (CDC) coronavirus vaccine distribution plan.
Tuesday was the first day of the hospitalâs vaccine clinic for those who fell into the Phase 1A group of the plan. Dell Myers, 84, and his wife, Judy Myers, 75, were among those who received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
