Nice weather anticipated over Christmas, New Year
All three regions of Vietnam are forecast to enjoy nice weather, perfect for entertainment activities during Christmas, while spells of rain and sunshine are expected in the south, with extreme cold set to hit the north over the New Year.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, temperatures between Dec. 23 and Dec. 25 in the northern region are expected to fluctuate between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius.
Most notably, the lowest temperatures are predicted to hit northern mountainous regions, ranging between 7 and 12. The highest temperatures in northern localities such as Lai Chau, Dien Bien, and Son La will hover around between 18 and 25.

Japanese biotech and chemical firm Fujifilm is planning to produce Covid-19 test kits in Vietnam by expanding its production facilities in the country.
Fujifilm would invest in Fujifilm Yuwa Medical Products Vietnam Co., a joint venture that produces diagnostic agents,
Vietnam News Agency reported, citing a Fujifilm official. The firm would be able to deliver two million kits a month to be sold globally, it added.

VIR, Fujifilm is among the latest recipients of the Japanese government s subsidies to diversify their operation. Specifically, the Japanese government is now providing subsidies for 30 companies to increase production in Southeast Asia, in the second round of a multi-billion dollar programme to diversify supply chains.Â
NNA Business News reported that Fujifilm will invest an undisclosed amount in Fujifilm Yuwa Medical Products Vietnam Co., a joint venture producing diagnostic agents, in stages starting in the next fiscal year to build a monthly production capacity of 2 million testing kits, an official of the Tokyo-based company said on Thursday (December 17). The date to start production has yet to be decided.
