The annual fireworks show was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was going to be canceled again this year due to financial difficulties, according to the CBS News affiliate.
New Orleans’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness plans to set up an incident command post at the event with the city’s police, fire and medical services departments.

Thousands of children have received one shot of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, one week after the state opened up vaccinations to kids aged 12 to 15.
Gov. John Bel Edwards said 5,275 children in that demographic have had a vaccine shot to date. There have been 50,041 COVID-19 cases and seven deaths among children 17 years and younger in Louisiana since the coronavirus pandemic broke out last spring.
“It is clear the Pfizer vaccine in individuals 12 to 15 is safe, effective, and it really protects not just that child, but the family as well,” said Dr. Joseph Kanter, the state health officer.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The New Orleans Saints are gearing up for a full stadium in three months and they say vaccination cards will not be required.
Renovations are also moving forward, though a bit behind schedule.
In just over three months, Saint fans are expected to fill up a partially renovated Superdome for the first time in over a year.eager to see new talent.
The Saints organization tweeted that those crowds under current guidelines, will not be required to show vaccination cards, but they are encouraging fans to get the shot, something which the mayor reinforced this afternoon.
