Stratford resident Matthew R. Adzima has been re-elected as the T
reasurer of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association (CFDA). Adzima is beginning his twelfth year as CFDA s Treasurer.
Adzima, a licensed funeral director/embalmer, is Secretary/Treasurer of
Adzima Funeral Home, Inc. at 50 Paradise Green Place in Stratford, Conn. The Stratford resident has been with the 106-year-old family-owned funeral home for 31 years. The funeral home was established in 1914 in Bridgeport by his great-grandfather, Joseph. The business moved to Stratford in 1979.
Adzima became a funeral director/embalmer in 1986 after receiving his degree from New England Institute of Mortuary Science in Boston, Mass. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Fairfield County Funeral Directors and is the President of the Board of St. John s Cemetery in Stratford. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Bridgeport.

acDonald is the President of Wallingford Funeral Home at 809 North Main Street Ext. in Wallingford and Yalesville Funeral Home at 386 Main St. in Yalesville. He became a licensed funeral director/embalmer in 1999 after receiving his professional schooling from the New England Institute of Mortuary Science at Mount Ida College in Dedham, Mass. He began his funeral service career in his teens working with his uncle, David T. Warren, at Thomas E. Fitzgerald Funeral Home (established in Wallingford, Conn. in 1934) which now does business as Wallingford Funeral Home and Yalesville Funeral Home.

LONDON, ENGLAND The Commissions of Royal Manorial and Nobility Titles announced today that it will bestow Bahamian politician Loretta Butler-Turner with the “honorable title” of Lady of the Manor of Brayton in the County of North Yorkshire this year for her “outstanding career in politics”.
Butler-Turner, who made history as the first female leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition in 2016 in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, is widely known for being a trailblazer and will be the first Bahamian woman to receive this manorial appointment.
The soon-to-be-appointed lady, who graduated from the New England Institute of Boston, Massachusetts, in 1987 with a Bachelor’s Degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Mortuary Science and Business Administration, became the first qualified Bahamian female mortician in The Bahamas.
