The District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) is financing the construction of infrastructure projects in some metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs) in the Ashanti, Greater Accra and Eastern regions.
The projects involve the construction of new physical structures (mainly administration blocks and staff bungalows), as well as single court edifices.
The fund is expending a total of GH¢94.7 million on 30 administration blocks, GH¢13.6 million on senior staff bungalows for the assemblies as well as GH¢15.9 million on 11 court buildings.
Out of the 30 administration blocks, which come in the form of two-storey structures for district assemblies and three-storey for municipal assemblies, the Ashanti Region will have 14 projects, the Eastern Region, seven, and the Greater Accra Region, nine.
Some five male students of Koforidua Technical Institute (KOTECH) in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region have been isolated at a location after being suspected of coronavirus.

The Ladies Association (IMMILAC) of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has donated assorted items to the Christian SOS Village at Akwadum in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The items, which cost GHC3,500 included consumables such as soft drinks, bottled drinking water, rice, vegetables and others made up of used clothings, soaps and sanitary items among others, were to help in the upkeep of the children in the home during the Christmas and New Year festive season.

The Vice-President of the association, Superintendent Dinah Adjei, who presented the items last Tuesday at Akwadum (December 22) on behalf of the Eastern Regional Commander of the GIS, who is also the President of the association, DCI Prudence Aku Sosuh, said the support was part of measures to share the love of Christmas with everyone especially the children.

A 66-year-old man believed to be a chief, William Agyei has met his untimely death at Adom Guest House in Koforidua – Effiduase in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region after having a sexual encounter with a 25-year-old lady.
The deceased as gathered went to the guest house to book the room and thereafter invited the lady, who is yet to be identified.
The lady reportedly fled after the old man died during the sexual encounter.
According to Police report, lodged by Charles Baafi, owner of the Guest House, the deceased on December 19, 2020, stormed the guest house with a red Toyota Corolla with registration number, ER 1614-17 and lodged in room number 40 of the guest house located at Effiduase off Akwadum to Suhum road.
