CHARLESTON Thirty-two confirmed deaths in West Virginia were reported Thursday morning from the virus, including three people in Wood County, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources said.
The number of confirmed deaths in the state since the pandemic began is 1,071.

The artist who crafted a towering mural of the late Whitney Houston by putting together more than 1,000 glass pieces on a luxury apartment building in Newark has finished her work.
The 19 foot by 28 foot mosaic was more than just a tribute to the late iconic singer, who was born in Newark and sang in the gospel choir at New Hope Baptist Church as a child. It was a way to uplift the community and remind residents along with visitors that Houston got her start in the Brick City, a place with rich musical roots.

CHARLESTON The death toll from the virus in West Virginia passed the 1,000 mark Tuesday, according to the Department of Health and Human Resources.
Thirty-four deaths have been confirmed in the 24-hour period from Monday morning to Tuesday morning, raising the number of dead from the COVID-19 coronavirus since the pandemic began to 1,012, the department said in its Tuesday morning update.
The death list included a 52-year-old man from Ritchie County, a 63-year-old woman from Pleasants County, an 84-year-old man from Roane County and a 78-year-old woman from Jackson County.
The state also confirmed the deaths of a 94-year-old woman from Harrison County, a 41-year-old woman from Berkeley County, a 66-year-old woman from Cabell County, an 86-year-old man from Monroe County, an 86-year-old woman from Monongalia County, a 72-year-old woman from Hardy County, a 72-year-old woman from Wayne County, a 76-year-old woman from Fayette County, a 92-year-old woman from Kanawha

CHARLESTON Forty people including three from Wood and Ritchie counties are among the confirmed deaths since Friday morning from the virus where the count of confirmed fatalities in West Virginia was 978 as of Monday morning, according to the Department of Health and Human Resources.
Thirty people died from Friday to Sunday morning and another 10 died from Sunday to Monday morning, the department said in its pandemic update on Monday.
Fatalities announced on Saturday include 64-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman from Wood County and a 76-year-old woman from Ritchie County.

The department said it confirmed two deaths in the 24-hour period from Saturday to Sunday morning and 28 in the 24 hours between Friday and Saturday morning.
