One Dead, Three Injured After Shooting In Rio Arriba County NMSP News: CHAMITA – At approximately 12:10 a.m. today, the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Uniform Bureau in Espanola was dispatched to County Road 56 in Chamita in reference to a shots fired call. When officers arrived on County Road 56, they observed multiple victims with gunshot wounds. Officers observed a tan Chevrolet Tahoe parked approximately 40 yards from County Road 56 House 89A. During the investigation, officers learned that the occupants in the Tahoe were traveling on County Road 56 when the driver of the Tahoe pulled into the property of County Road 56 House 89A in Chamita. Occupants of the residence told the individuals in the Tahoe, “to get out of the property” and then began shooting towards the Tahoe. The driver of the Tahoe drove through a fence coming to rest on an adjoining property.

At approximately 6:52 a.m., the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) responded to a 911 domestic disturbance at 25 Plata Road in Los Lunas, NM. The reporting party told dispatch the suspect was freaking out and armed with a hatchet. When deputies arrived on scene, they met with the victim, who reported the male suspect is her grandson. He was freaking out, threatening to hurt her, and other people. The victim told deputies her grandson was still inside the residence.

New Mexico State Police arrest suspect who fired shots at Alamogordo Police Sergeant

By News Editor And Partners • Feb 17, 2021    Alamogordo, NM - On February 13, 2021 at approximately 11:48 a.m., the Alamogordo Police Department responded to a residence on Stanford Avenue in Alamogordo, NM in reference to a neighbor dispute. Here is a statement from the New Mexico State Police: When the sergeant arrived at the residence, he met with the reporting party. As the sergeant conducted an interview with the reporting party, he heard approximately four gunshots fired towards his direction from 2410 Stanford Avenue. The sergeant had the reporting party seek cover in their residence as he moved towards the residence where the shots were fired. The sergeant observed a male subject who was identified as Nathan Contreras (41) of Alamogordo, NM, standing outside of 2410 Stanford Avenue armed with a handgun. The sergeant identified himself as a police officer and gave verbal commands to Contreras to drop the gun. Contreras ignored the commands and
