FONDA The Montgomery County Public Health will have a rabies clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb, 27 at the Montgomery County Department of Public Works garage, 6 Park St., according to a news release.
The New York State Public Health Law requires that all dogs, cats and domestic ferrets will have initial vaccinations administered against rabies no later than 4 months of age and stay up to date with re-vaccinations. The re-vaccinations are required one year later and a booster shot every three years. It is important to have pets vaccinated in a timely manner in order for the pet to be considered protected against the virus. The pet owners should bring proof of their pet’s last rabies vaccination.
