If you have been wanting to get a COVID-19 vaccination, but didn’t have transportation to Williamsburg or London, then you may be in luck.
In an effort to help get more people vaccinated against COVID-19 in underserved areas, some mobile vaccination sites are coming to the local area this week and offering free vaccinations.
A mobile vaccination van will be at the following locations on the following dates:
• New Salem Baptist Church in London on Tuesday, June 1. It is located at 2182 N. Laurel Road, London.
• Firestone Industrial Products in Williamsburg on Tuesday, June 1, and Wednesday, June 2.
• Wasioto Winds Pro Shop at Pine Mountain State Resort Park on Thursday, June 3. It is located at 1050 State Park Road, Pineville.

Mobile vaccination centers will be set up in the Tri-County this week. The mobile units are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and no appointment is necessary.
The mobile units are being brought to the area by the Kentucky Department of Health and Wild Health, who is managing the units.
The units will return to the same location in three weeks to give the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Canadatown Community Fellowship, 95 Log Cabin Road, Williamsburg
FEMA also has a vaccination location at the Laurel County Extension Office, 200 County Extension Road in London, that remains open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. No appointment is needed.

A mobile vaccination van will be at Firestone Industrial Projects in Williamsburg on Tuesday, May 11, and Wednesday, May 12. The vaccination event is open to the public.
A mobile vaccination van will also be at Canadatown Community Fellowship on Saturday, May 15. It is located at 95 Log Cabin Road, Williamsburg.

MINNEAPOLIS A crowd gathered outside North Memorial Hospital Saturday, holding a vigil for a young boy in critical condition after a Friday afternoon shooting.
Minneapolis police said he was shot while inside a vehicle near the 3400 block of Morgan Avenue North. They did not release the boy s name, but said Saturday that he is still in critical condition.
On Saturday, community members gathered outside the hospital for a vigil. Friends and family prayed for the boy s health. More prayers are planned starting Saturday evening at the place where he was shot.
