Palm Beach County Vice Mayor Robert Weinroth announced Thursday a special program to administer COVID-19 vaccines for Holocaust survivors in Palm Beach County.
“Holocaust survivors are treasures and we need to make sure they receive vaccinations,’’ he said. “I am truly grateful to the governor, Jared Moskowitz, Director, and Jared Rosenstein, Legislative Affairs Director, both with the Florida Division of Emergency Management for making this happen.
Weinroth’s project is part of a statewide program to make sure Holocaust survivors have immediate access to the vaccine, according to a news release. He reached out to Gov. Ron DeSantis office last week for assistance with the program.

President Joe Biden will meet with House Democratic leaders and deliver remarks on the economy on Friday as his administration presses Congress to pass his $1.9 trillion COVID-relief package.
The Oval Office meeting, which also will include the Democratic chairmen of House committees working on COVID relief, comes just hours after the Senate set the stage for passage of the package, possibly by the end of the month.

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health, Florida Division of Emergency Management and Pinellas County Government, is making progress in vaccinating senior citizens age 65 and up.
Recent accomplishments include:
Provided vaccinations to more than 230 seniors from 16 predominantly African American churches in St. Petersburg during the weekend of Jan. 30-31. It was the second faith-based outreach in the area.
DOH-Pinellas is organizing a Vaccine Equity Task Force with varied representation to identify potential sites and opportunities for vaccinations in underserved areas.

ORLANDO, Fla. - The first doses of the coronavirus vaccine have finally arrived at Wellsprings Residence in Apopka one of many assisted living facilities that have been waiting.
Letcia Hardy says her 88-year-old mother, Jean, is a resident at Wellsprings and has been waiting since the holidays to get her vaccine.
