Wanganui Road Rodders and their friends filled the grounds of City College on Sunday with their annual River City Park Up. There were vehicles of all types and sizes, from the immaculate to the yet-to-be-restored and everything in between.
Oldies but goodies.
Ian Higgins was there with his top of the Chrysler line, a 1956 Imperial, with air conditioning! He belongs to the Vintage Car Club, but he also had a muscle car in the line-up on Sunday.
Great ready for some outdoor excitement. Coming this fall, Mill City Park is expected to open to the public at Franklin Falls according to Boston.com. An old mill town closed its mill back in the 1970s and the town has sort of faded into obscurity. That is all about to change. The construction of Mill City Park is expected to begin in July with some aspects open as early as this fall. This looks like so much fun.
The free park will feature kayaking, boogie boarding, whitewater rafting, and even surfing on the Winnipesaukee River year-round according to Boston.com. Marty Parichand, who is the founder of Mill City Park tells Boston.com, “There are 300 whitewater parks across the country and there’s not one here. It’ll totally change the game for Franklin, and it will do so with free outdoor recreation.” Free outdoor recreation sounds like just what is needed to revitalize the shops and restaurants in town.

The crew of a Canadian Forces helicopter landed the aircraft in a park east of Halifax on Tuesday after they noticed a warning indicator in the cockpit.
No one was injured and no damage was reported after the CH-148 Cyclone touched down in Rainbow Haven Provincial Park in the afternoon.
The Royal Canadian Air Force says the helicopter was on a routine flight near its base at 12 Wing Shearwater, which is on the east side of Halifax harbour.
