The Mohan Ahuja Stadium’s condition in Bistupur has worsened due to the row between Tata Steel and Jharkhand Badminton Association over the lease of the venue.
The stadium, located near Keenan Stadium in Bistupur, has never witnessed any major repairs since it was set up in the 1960s.

Though the whole interior portion of the stadium is in a poor shape, the ceiling over the three main wooden courts is posing a serious threat. The ceiling is leaking and water seepage could further weaken the already weakened roof.

By Nitin SrivastavaNew Delhi [India], June 9 (ANI): Indian Olympic Association s (IOA) Secretary-General Rajeev Mehta on Wednesday gave his opinion on dropping off the Chinese sponsor from the Olympic kit for the Tokyo-bound athletes.
The IOA on Tuesday had decided that the nation s athletes would wear unbranded sports apparel in the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo from July 23 to August 8, 2021. The IOA and Sunlight Sports have reached an agreement together to arrange the sports kitting of the Indian Olympic team to Tokyo 2020, locally by IOA.
The agreement was reached keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the athletes, in lieu of the logistical challenges being faced by IOA due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown situation in the country.
BAI president Himanta Biswa elected to BWF Council

New Delhi [India], May 22 (ANI): The Badminton Association of India (BAI) president Himanta Biswa Sarma was on Saturday elected to the BWF council for the period 2021-25.
Sarma, who is also the Vice President of Badminton Asia, got 236 votes in his favour as the 20 council members were elected from 31 contestants at the virtual AGM and Council election of Badminton World Federation (BWF). I am thankful to all the member nations for voting in my favour and I take this opportunity to congratulate the BWF President as well as my fellow Council Members on their appointment, Sarma said after his election.
