As Restrictions Lift, Reopened PA Businesses Cast A Wary Eye Towards The Future

Some Lancaster County restaurants react after Gov Wolf announced recent COVID-19 restrictions will expire Monday

Specifically, Wolf announced restrictions put in place almost three weeks ago will expire next week. Watch the video below. Earlier this month, Gov. Wolf announced that restaurants would have to revert to only selling takeout or outdoor dining options, and gyms would be ordered to close. The measure is slated to last until Jan. 4, 2021. Gene Barr: Wolf’s latest mitigation orders further cripples struggling industries By Gene Barr © Provided by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette In a year of seemingly unending challenges for businesses across the state, Gov. Tom Wolf’s latest mitigation orders will tragically be the final death knell for many, particularly in the hospitality industry. Banning indoor dining along with the forced closure of gyms, theaters and museums will further devastate Pennsylvania’s economy and lead to even more unemployment. While the Pennsylvania Chamber appreciates the need to mitigate virus spread, this order continues a disheartening and unacceptable trend of the administration making policies in a vacuum, with decisions based on little input from industry experts or sound data.
