HARRISBURG, July 19 House Democratic Leader Joanna McClinton, D-Phila/Delaware, Whip Jordan Harris, D-Phila, and Legislative Black Caucus Chair Donna Bullock, D-Phila., issued the following statement today after an elected official trolled social media for attention by comparing Black lawmakers to the insurrectionists who invaded the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
“This pathetic ‘clickbait’ from an elected official who still repeats the lies that led to the January 6 insurrection, led to the death of a police officer, and could have led to more deaths in the name of overturning the results of a legal election is beyond embarrassing to this member, his caucus and the entire institution.
