According to vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr., implementing a massive lockdown is no longer a sustainable strategy to control the spread of the pandemic.
The government instead has pushed for the efficient implementation of localized lockdown in smaller areas that record any spike in transmission to protect public health while minimizing the impact on the larger economy. And so far, the local government units were doing a good job in enforcing quarantine restrictions in their areas, Galvez observed.
