The filing will come as a disappointment to supporters of President Donald Trump, who hoped that Pence would attempt to reject some of President-elect Joe Biden s electoral college votes and recognize votes for Trump instead when Congress meets next week to certify the November election.

Paducah site cleanup funding increased

Funding for ongoing cleanup efforts at the U.S. Department of Energyâs Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant will total $316 million in 2021 â a $2 million increase over last yearâs level â U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced recently. âKentuckyâs priorities are once again at the center of the federal government funding bill,â McConnell said. âMy role as majority leader and a senior member of the Appropriations Committee mean Kentucky has a front-row seat when major decisions are made.â The funding will support the continuing environmental cleanup operations at the Paducah site and other initiatives such as the operations and facility upgrades at Paducahâs DUF-6 conversion facility.
