President Donald Trump lashed out at congressional Republicans a day after the House easily voted to override his veto of a defence policy bill. A total of 109 Republicans, including Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, a member of GOP leadership, joined with Democrats on Monday to approve the override, which would be the first of Trumps presidency. The Senate is expected to consider the measure later this week. Trump on Tuesday slammed GOP lawmakers on Twitter, charging that Weak and tired Republican leadership will allow the bad Defence Bill to pass.? Trump called the override vote a disgraceful act of cowardice and total submission by weak people to Big Tech. Negotiate a better Bill, or get better leaders, NOW! Senate should not approve NDAA until fixed!!!?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday blocked an attempt by House Democrats to increase the amount of the recently passed stimulus checks from $600 to $2,000.
McConnell objected after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer asked for a unanimous vote on the stimulus checks increase with the House on Monday.
The increase was part of the demands of President Donald Trump who said the current amount allotted for the stimulus checks was too small and should be set at $2,000, reported New York Post.

Nevada County’s two representatives to Congress, Republicans Doug LaMalfa and Tom McClintock, both voted Monday against a bill that would increase COVID-19 relief payments from $600 to $2,000 per person.
The bill was approved in the House, 275-134. Republican U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes was the only other California representative to vote against the bill.
Despite growing support from Republicans, on Tuesday the bill moved to the Senate where a vote was blocked by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who sought to add into the bill provisions President Donald Trump called for this week.
In a move likely to put its passage in jeopardy, McConnell added to the bill a bipartisan committee on election fraud and the repeal of Section 230 of the Communication Decency Act, which provides online publishers protection from lawsuits stemming from speech they host.
