With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, this movie is a must-see. On top of that, it was filmed 100% in Syracuse.
I wrote an article about the release of Paper Spiders on Friday, linked here. While writing it, I realized I needed to see the movie. Saturday night I went to Amazon Prime and rented the movie and was quickly amazed. It exceeded the hype! It was described as a coming-of-age drama, and I don t think any other movie could define that genre of films better. This movie showcases mental health big time though.
The main story of the film is about a mother who is caught battling some pretty severe paranoia. Stefania LaVie Owen portrays Melanie, the daughter, who is trying her hardest to not only convince her mother that what she is experiencing is not happening. The story is hard to watch at times, sure, but it is so worth it by the end of the movie. I don t want to spoil the movie for you too much, so I ll leave it at that.
Zac is back and he is bringing the band to SPAC!
This is the announcement we have all been waiting for. After some smaller shows starting popping back up, we knew it was just a matter of time until a major Country tour made the announcement they were coming to the Capital Region, That time is today!
This morning Zac Brown Band announced they will return to the road in August on The Comeback Tour which will include a stop at SPAC Sunday, October 3rd. Newcomers Adam Doleac and Ashland Craft will join Zac for the SPAC date. If you cannot wait until October and want to go on a Zac mini-tour this summer. ZBB kick-off In New Jersey on Thursday, August 5th at the PNC Bank Arts Center, and the trek will also include shows down at Bethel Woods Friday, August 6th, and a big one at Fenway Park in Boston Sunday, August 8th. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, May 14th at Noon at the Zac Brown Band s website.
Comedian Auggie Smith Talks Weed, Billings Catholic School + More
Fans of the Bob and Tom Show might recognize Billings very own Auggie Smith from his regular guest appearances on the nationally syndicated morning show. Comedy fans around town may have seen Auggie when he took the stage in Billings previously, most recently about four years ago. Some of you maybe even went to school with Auggie at Billings Central. Regardless of how you know him, he s super funny and will be performing tonight and tomorrow night (5/7 - 5/8) at the Red Door.
Auggie stopped by my show today to chat and we had a blast covering a range of topics, including his days at St. Francis, first cars, his experience with the Bob and Tom Show, cannabis, life with kids, and more. It was a lot of fun and you can hear the full interview below.
