BREAKING: Iowa State Trooper Killed During Grundy Center Standoff
An Iowa State Patrol trooper was killed during a nearly five-hour-long standoff at a home in Grundy Center.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has confirmed that a the trooper died after apparently being shot Friday night.

The standoff is believed to have began when a motorist was pulled over for speeding. The motorist went inside his home on G Ave. (Iowa Highway 175), triggering the standoff.

Witnesses reported hearing shots fired during the standoff, which began around 7:30 PM Friday and ended around 1 AM Saturday. Police officers from Grundy Center and Cedar Falls were involved in the standoff, along with the Iowa State Patrol and sheriff s deputies from Grundy and Hardin Counties.
