Drugs and cash seized, two men charged – Gateshead
Two men will appear at court today charged over alleged drug offences in the Lake Macquarie area.
Officers from the Lake Macquarie Police District have been investigating the alleged supply of prohibited drugs, mainly methylamphetamine, in the Windale and Gateshead areas.
As a result of ongoing inquiries, police were conducting patrols of the Gateshead area when they stopped and spoke with a 38-year-old man on Coral Crescent about 10.40am yesterday (Thursday 14 January 2021).
During a person search, officers allegedly located methylamphetamine.
He was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station.
About 4.40pm that same day, detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Coral Crescent and arrested a 54-year-old man.

Horrifying dash camera footage from inside a stolen Audi R8 shows the car veering into oncoming traffic as it speeds at 160km/h through suburban streets.
The high-performance vehicle was parked outside a couple s Newcastle home when it was snatched just before 3pm on December 20.
As the vehicle left the Mereweather house, the dash camera automatically turned on, capturing the thief s dangerous joy ride.

Police charge man after stealing high performance car – Merewether
A man will face court today after allegedly stealing a high-performance vehicle and driving in a dangerous manner throughout Newcastle.
About 2.45pm on Sunday (20 December 2020), an Audi R8 was stolen from a home on Scenic Drive, Merewether.
Police will allege in court that the driver – a 49-year-old man – committed several driving offences throughout Newcastle after stealing the Audi including, but not limited to:
Crossing double white lines to overtake vehicles
Driving on the wrong side of the road
Speeding at approximately 160km/hr in a sign-posted 60km/hr zone

Police say a thief put dozens of lives at risk on the weekend after he allegedly stole a car from a home in Merewether and drove erratically through the streets of Newcastle, reaching speeds of up to 160km/hr.
On Sunday afternoon, the 49-year-old allegedly stole an Audi R8 from a home on Scenic Drive and took it on a dangerous joy ride through Newcastle.
Dash cam footage from the stolen car shows the alleged theif speeding through stop signs, over pedestrian crossings, travelling in excess of 160 km/hr in built up areas, overtaking other motorists across double unbroken lines, and crossing to the wrong side of the road.
