Former Cape Town ANC councillor Loyiso Nkohla is known for his razor-sharp tongue and for being hauled before court to explain his use of human excrement during protests.
Now Nkohla is crying foul over the criminal charges he is facing as his legal fees mount.
The Bellville Regional Court convicted Nkohla and another former ANC councillor Andile Lili‚ along with seven members of the Ses’Khona People’s Rights Movement‚ of contravening a section of the Civil Aviation Act in February.

Zane Killian and four others made a quick court appearance on charges of the attempted murder of defence lawyer William Booth.
Killian is still waiting for the outcome of his bail application on the charge of the murder of Anti-Gang Unit detective Lieutenant-Colonel Charl Kinnear.
His appearance was low key without the blazing sirens and armed side riders that marked previous arrivals and departures.
Former rugby player and private investigator Zane Killian made a quick appearance in the Cape Town Magistrate s Court with four other people accused of attempting to murder well-known Cape Town lawyer William Booth.
His arrival, in the same checked shirt with cut off sleeves that he wore for his bail application in Bellville Regional Court on Tuesday for the murder of Anti-Gang Unit detective Lieutenant-Colonel Charl Kinnear, was low key.

CAPE TOWN - Police are still hunting the gunman who assassinated organised crime detective Charl Kinnear more than four months since the high profile hit.
The only person charged was Zane Kilian, an unregistered private investigator.
He s accused of having tracked Kinnear s cellphone phone up until the day he was shot dead in front of his Bishop Lavis home in September.
Kilian appeared in the Bellville Regional Court on Tuesday for the continuation of his bail application. However, proceedings were again postponed.

CAPE TOWN - The bail application of a private investigator implicated in the assassination of organised crime detective Charl Kinnear has been postponed until later this month.
Zane Kilian appeared in the Bellville Regional Court on Tuesday.
He was arrested in September, days after Kinnear was shot dead outside his Bishop Lavis home.
Kilian is accused of having tracked Kinnear s phone over a period of time. The State said he did so until the hour of the murder.
