Asian American & Pacific Islander Community Conversation To Be Hosted By Perseverance Theatre

To celebrate Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Perseverance Theatre is hosting a Community Conversation led by Artistic Director, Leslie Ishii, on May 26 at 6 p.m. AKDT. Additional panelists include Adriana Li, Dennis Arashiro, and Edric Carrillo.
The event is free and open to the public and will be live-streamed to Perseverance Theatre s Facebook and YouTube. A link will also be posted on the webpage, ptalaska.org.

Mumbai, May 21 : Singer Armaan Malik has collaborated with Korean-American singer-songwriter Eric Nam and international music producer KSHMR for a single titled Echo , which was released on Friday. The track highlights indecisiveness in a relationship that pushes partners off the edge. Echo was incepted when I met KSHMR in Los Angeles right before the onset of the global pandemic. He played some unreleased material including Echo . It just stuck, and I recorded my demo verse at his studio itself. A foundation launched by prominent Asian American business leaders earlier this month said Thursday it has raised more than $1 billion to support Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

Foundation, or TAAF, came minutes after President Joe Biden signed legislation aimed at curtailing the rise in hate crimes against Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in the United States.
Sonal Shah, the foundation s president, and TAAF board members were also at the White House, where they briefed administration officials, including domestic policy adviser Susan Rice. Brave Asian and Pacific Islander Americans who served in the military were honored in a special ceremony at Fort Hamilton Thursday.
The ceremony is part of Asia Americans and Pacific Islander Heritage Month as the group accounts for less than 5% of the armed forces.
Among those who were honored, Capt. Sungjae Kim was recognized for his service in the army as the company commander of New York City s Recruiting Battalion s Queens Company.
He started off in a completely different field: accounting.
