ANALYSIS:
Data journalist Chris McDowall discovers an unreliable illustration supplied by the Ministry of Health to show vaccine rollout was created by a graphic designer, not a statistician. On March 17, the Ministry of Health published a chart showing projected timings for New Zealand s vaccination programme. The graph was titled Covid-19 vaccine: Illustration of volumes and timing of vaccination rollout .
Kuwait City: The Ministry of Health is ramping up its vaccination campaign as it aims to vaccinate around one million people by the end of Ramadan, local media reported.
While the Ministry of Health has not indicated the exact number of people that have been vaccinated (either receiving the first or both doses), local media is reporting that around 800,000 residents and citizens have been vaccinated.
In recent weeks, Kuwait began raising the number of people it vaccinates per day and has begun vaccinating people working in supermarkets and mosques.
The Ministry of Health stated that employees of 12 cooperative societies (local supermarkets) in the Hawally governorate have been vaccinated. In addition, employees working at six other cooperative societies across Kuwait have also been vaccinated.
The Nation Media Group was yesterday targeted in an attack by anonymous cyberbullies on Twitter.
In the synchronized tweets that began at dawn, the bloggers used photoshopped images, innuendo, and falsehoods in what appeared to be an effort to discredit the company, its journalists, editors, and other staff.
The attack coincides with the Thursday launch of an NMG marketing campaign.
Recent stories in the Daily Nation and Taifa Leo, especially on the management of the Covid-19 crisis and public debt, have invited official displeasure, with some key figures in private accusing the organisation of being “unpatriotic” and seeking to incite the public against the government.
