New Delhi: With strains of UK mutant of coronavirus making an entry into the country, the virus monitoring agencies have undertaken a hunt to trace and isolate the likely carriers of the deadly disease. According to a report in the Times of India, the country has been divided into six regions for a molecular hunt of the virus.
10 regional laboratories have been tasked to sequence positive samples through RT-PCR tests under INSACOG (Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium) comprising of (NIBMG Kolkata, ILS Bhubaneswar, NIV Pune, CCS Pune, CCMB Hyderabad, CDFD Hyderabad, InSTEM Bengaluru, NIMHANS Bengaluru, IGIB Delhi, NCDC Delhi) for genome sequencing.
