The number of active COVID-19 cases in Peterborough has taken a dip. Peterborough Public Health is reporting there’s now 76 active cases of COVID-19, down from 92 the previous day. Public health adds that just four cases were reported by health officials in the last 24-hours. In total, there’s now been 1179 total cases of the novel coronavirus, with 1090 of them considered resolved and 13 local deaths. Across the province yesterday, Health Minister Christine Elliott reported 3510 new cases of the virus, while nearly 4.7-million vaccine doses have been given. Peterborough Public Health Medical Officer of Health Dr. Rosana Salvaterra will address the media today at 12:00pm.
