Bunting welcomes criminal charges against former Petrojam chairman

Opposition Spokesman on National Security, Senator Peter Bunting, has said the arrest and charge of former Chairman of Petrojam, Dr Perceval Bahado-Singh, on 12 counts of obtaining money by false pretence, would serve as an important deterrent to persons inclined towards corruption within the public sector. Bunting issued a statement on Monday, shortly after Bahado-Singh was arrested and charged by detectives from the Major Organised Crime & Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA). It is alleged that between December 2016 and May 2018, Bahado-Singh fraudulently claimed reimbursements and was paid monies by Petrojam, the state-owned oil refinery, for overseas business trips that he did not take. MOCA said the fraudulent claims over the period amounted to US$73,620.

NADMO Complies With Public Financial Management Act 921-Director-General

The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) is currently organizing a 3-day training programme at the Institute of Local Government Studies-Accra for selected accounts-related officers selected from the 16 Regions and Head Office. The Director-General of NADMO in his opening remarks was particularly pleased that this programme was coming on because; it has been his dream to establish Internal Audit Units in all 16 Regional Directorates of our organization. To the surprise of all, apart from the Greater Accra and the Eastern region, the rest of the regions do not have Internal Audit Units even though the institution provides funds and other resources to them to manage.
