PEORIA, Ill. Peoria Police responded at approximately 8:40 p.m. Tuesday to the 2900 block of N. Sterling Avenue regarding a multi-vehicle accident.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said four people were taken via ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“An adult female was pronounced dead at the scene,” Dotson said.
Peoria firefighters, AMT, and the Peoria County coroner were on scene.
“Further information regarding the identity of the deceased will be released by the Peoria County coroner,” Dotson said.
Sterling Avenue from Gilbert to Forrest Hill was shut down over seven hours as investigators processed the scene.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the person who died.
He said 25-year-old Katherine King of West Peoria died instantly from multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Toxicology was pending.

PEORIA, Ill. A juvenile male was shot in the foot Sunday afternoon in Peoria’s East Bluff.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said the incident happened around 12:20 p.m. in the 1800 block of N California Ave.
“Officers arrived on-scene. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” Dotson said.
Police have no suspects at this time.
