Spring Commencement to Honor Largest Class in University History 5 hours ago • May 12, 2021 By Larry Isch Posted in About University of the Ozarks will graduate the largest class in its 187-year history during the 2021 Spring Commencement ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, May 15. The in-person ceremony, which is limited to ticketed guests, will begin at 10 a.m. on the University’s soccer field. Gates will open at 8:30 a.m. The ceremony will be livestreamed on the University’s Facebook page and Youtube channel. The Class of 2021 includes 148 candidates for graduation. In addition, approximately 25 graduates from the Class of 2020 have chosen to participate in the event since the University had to cancel last year’s ceremony due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bank of America Names Heather Albright President of Arkansas March 11, 2021 at 1:30 PM Eastern Bank of America has named Heather Albright as President of Bank of America Arkansas.  Albright succeeds Donnie Cook who has led the market for the past 16 years and recently announced his retirement earlier this month. As president, Albright will be responsible for connecting the banking and investment resources offered through our eight lines of business to companies, families and individuals across Arkansas. She will also lead the effort to deploy Bank of America’s resources to address social concerns, strengthen economic opportunity, and build strong communities, as well as support the health, safety and engagement of local teammates.

MHHS s Caststeel receives master economics teacher recognition

Mountain Home High School economics teacher Johnny Caststeel has been named a Polly M. Jackson Master Economics Teacher (MET) for Economics Arkansas. Caststeel was presented with a certificate in recognition of the honor by District Superintendent Dr. Jake Long on Thursday. The MET program was established by Polly Jackson in 1992 with 16 inaugural METs from varying grade levels and curricular backgrounds. The program was designed to provide staff development opportunities to fulfill Economics Arkansas’s need for dynamic, enthusiastic economic educators to staff professional development opportunities across Arkansas.
