Sedalia Police Reports for May 24, 2021

Early Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of West 16th Street for a report of suspicious activity. A concerned party stated she saw three juveniles filling Mountain Dew bottles with gasoline. A search of the area was conducted, and two juveniles were found and returned home.
Officers responded to the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Limit Avenue late Sunday night to assist Pettis County Deputies on a traffic stop. Pettis County Deputies requested a female Officer to search a female suspect. The female was searched and was placed under arrest. She was then transported to the Pettis County Jail. There was no further information in the report.

Increased Coronavirus in Sedalia Sewage Plant: What It Means
There are a few nuggets of information in this week s Pettis County COVID-19 Task Force Briefing worth mentioning. Including one item that might indicate the coronavirus is present in our community, and cases could increase.
An increased amount of the coronavirus has been found in one of the sewage treatment plants in Sedalia. According to the task force s report, The amount of virus particles found in sewage is a good predictor of the cases of disease in a community. The last large spike noted in sewage was on March 1 and there were 40 positive COVID cases that week. While not completely predictive, the increase in the virus at the treatment plant, could indicate a spike in the virus.
