Man charged with stabbing, beating roommate LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. A 65-year-old man is facing charges for allegedly stabbing and beating his roommate, according to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office. On Sunday at 9:18 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of Cherry Drive in Fish Lake for a domestic disturbance. A deputy and conservation officer responded to the scene and located 32-year-old Calvin Swanson who had cuts and bruises and was bleeding. Swanson said his roommate, Michael Brewer, stabbed and beat him, reports said. Swanson was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

A Peoria, Illinois man was arrested by detectives from La Porte County and agents with the ATF Wednesday morning, according to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office. Around 11:30 a.m., members of the La Porte County Fugitive Apprehension Street Team and ATF arrived to the 500 block of Van Spanje Avenue to locate 28-year-old Alsiah Spikes. Spikes was wanted on an outstanding federal warrant for felon in possession of a firearm and two state warrants, for probation violation and aggravated battery. While serving the search warrant to arrest Spikes, officers saw Spikes escaping through a window after they entered the residence, deputies said.

Hakim Qualls, 19, is wanted for murder, attempted murder, dangerous possession of a firearm, criminal recklessness and dangerous possession of a firearm. Qualls is 5’2” tall and weighs 120 pounds. He also goes by the nickname Snook. Qualls is accused of killing 18-year-old Dareon Brown on December 18, 2018.
