âPerjuryâ is the offence of wilfully lying under oath.
Mkhwebaneâs layer, Advocate Dali Mpofu, says he will make an application to the High Court if the charges were not withdrawn.
She appeared before the Pretoria Magistrateâs Court on Thursday.

Mkhwebane made the comments on Twitter after a brief appearance at the Pretoria Magistrate Court earlier on Thursday where she was charged with three counts of perjury.

The officer’s co-accused briefly appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Monday on charges relating to the R85-million South African Police Service (SAPS) case.
The two men now join 42 other accused who are all out on bail.
Ravin Ramlall, an administrative clerk at Bambanani Marketing and Projects Pty Ltd, and Hanisha Chetty, a former sole director of Mafuta Marketing Solutions Pty Ltd, are facing charges of corruption, fraud, forgery, money laundering, and theft.

JOHANNESBURG - Two more suspects are expected hand themselves over on Monday morning in connection with a multi-million rand police car branding scam.
They will be joining 42 other accused who ve already been charged with corruption, fraud and money laundering in the Pretoria Magistrates Court.
The case stems from irregular supply chain management at the South African Police Service (SAPS) dating back to 2018.

JOHANNESBURG - Willah Mudolo, one of self-proclaimed Prophet Shepherd Bushiri s co-accused, has been denied bail in the Pretoria Magistrate s Court.
Mudolo is the last suspect accused of being involved in the alleged defrauding of members of the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church.
The court has ruled that Mudolo was a flight risk after he allegedly tried to flee the country three times before he was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport in October.
