Brigadier Rosey Resondt's husband, who is Bushiri's security head, allegedly raped her niece in 2018 but the child dropped the charges after R500 000 was paid into her parents' home loan, the NPA says.
Hawks in South Africa on Thursday arrested a police brigadier and her husband in relation to the investigation of Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and wife, Mary, South Africa media reports.
According to Colonel Katlego Mogale, a 46-year-old Brigadier based at the Organised Crime of the Detective Service Head Office and her 50-year-old husband were expected appear in the Pretoria Magistrateâs Court on Thursday morning following their arrest for corruption and defeating the ends of justice.
âThe pair handed themselves to the team of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation tasked with the investigation of criminal activities relating to Prophet Shepherd Bushiri,â said Mogale.

The head of security for the Bushiris, along with his wife, have appeared at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on charges of corruption.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says Clifford and Rosy Resondt are charged with corruption amounting to R500 000. They have been released on bail of R15 000 each and the matter was postponed to February 25, 2021.
Rosy Resondt works for the Organised Crime Unit of the police service. It is alleged that in 2018 her husband, Clifford, was arrested for the alleged rape of his wife’s niece.
