IP Infusion Selected by EvoNet as Key Partner for Future Network Expansion

Posted on 437 IP Infusion, a leading provider of network disaggregation solutions for telecom and data communications operators, today announced that EvoNet, an Internet Service Provider in South Africa, has selected its OcNOS® network operating system as their preferred technology for future network expansion in South Africa and across the African continent, replacing existing legacy technologies. In 2020, EvoNet decided to invest in disaggregated network technology to support their future growth throughout South Africa and the rest of the African continent. As a tier 1 operator, they needed a partner with a proven track record and a powerful, feature-rich software stack for their Edgecore Network’s routing and switching network. Bandwidth demands have scaled substantially over the years, but 2020 brought about unexpected changes in user behavior which needed to be supported by their infrastructure today and in the

Renesas introduces Linux-based Clock Manager

Renesas introduces Linux-based Clock Manager Renesas has introduced PTP (Precision Time Protocol) Clock Manager, a Linux-based clock management software, providing  timing synchronisation  for telecom networks, including 4G, 5G, and open radio access network (O-RAN), including both fronthaul and backhaul systems. The new IEEE 1588 Renesas PTP Clock Manager includes APIs to connect Renesas timing ICs with any network processor via the Linux standard PTP stack, offering broad access to PTP synchronization without the need for time-intensive customization. This time stamp unit (TSU)-agnostic approach provides customers access to their processor/clock combination of choice and eliminates the need to create their own APIs, allowing them greater design flexibility while reducing development costs. When used with Renesas clock solutions, the PTP Clock Manager is provided under a “no fees” license.
