Supreme Court Imposes Fine Of Rs 5 Lakh For Motivated Plea Against Ex-Chief Justice s Appointment

A motivated plea was filed in 2017 challenging the appointment of then Chief Justice Dipak Misra New Delhi: The Supreme Court today directed that Rs 5 lakh cost be recovered from the land of a litigant who had filed a motivated petition in 2017 challenging the appointment of the then Chief Justice Dipak Misra. Swami Om (now deceased) and Mukesh Jain had in 2017 questioned the practise of recommending to the President, the name of successor by the incumbent Chief Justice of India. A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and MR Shah also took note of the application for reduction of cost filed by Mr Jain, who is currently in Balasore jail in Odisha in another case and said he has again made some unfounded allegations against the judges of the Supreme Court.

CDA to hold auction of commercial plots on 29th

CDA to hold auction of commercial plots on 29th Islamabad March 16, 2021 Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) will hold a three days auction of 29 commercial plots on March 29 at Jinnah Convention Center. The commercial plots of sector D-12, G-6, G-10, G-11, G-8, Blue Area, I-8, F-8, F-11, I-12 and other developed sectors will be presented for auction. Plots of five star hotels, apartment hospitals, and petrol pumps are also included which would be presented for auction. CDA official said that to provide the best opportunities of investment CDA has presented the plots in developed sectors for auction. The authority has devised a special team to facilitate and guide the investors in this regard.
