JAMMU: Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari today urged the Prime Minister Narendera Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to fulfill the promise of granting statehood status to erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir stating that the Government of India should also announce an “unemployment package for the swelling number of unemployed youth of UT.
Bukhari also said that administration in J&K is defunct and the Srinagar-Jammu highway blockade has triggered a serious crisis which needs to be investigated and the contractors who played with the mountains for constructing a four-lane highway, need to be booked.

SRINAGAR: National Conference president and the head of PAGD Dr Farooq Abdullah Thursday trained his guns at the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha asking him to release all those detained recently if the government wants democracy to survive in J&K.
Dr Farooq also demanded immediate restoration of 4-G internet services stating that Prime Minister Narendera Modi talks about 5-G, but people of J&K are craving for high-speed internet services.
Talking to reporters after chairing a meeting of PAGD leaders at his Gupkar residence, Dr Farooq said that if LG-led administration and the Government of India wants democracy to survive in J&K, all those detained recently should be released immediately.

JAMMU: J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Sunday said that he was glad to see every segment of society taking part in the recently concluded eight-phase District Development Council (DDC) polls which signifies people of J&K reposed trust in democracy to reap benefits of democracy at grassroots level.
Addressing a press conference at Jammu, the LG said that the percentage in the DDC polls that concluded yesterday was very high if same are compared to the previous Lok Sabha polls. “Long queues were seen out of polling stations and every segment of society participated in it. Youth, elderly, women, first time voters, street vendors, employees and other sections of society participated in the polls with great faith and enthusiasm,” the LG Sinha said.
