Women’s rights activists who organized this year’s International Women’s Day in Pakistan have been accused of committing blasphemy and received death threats from extremist groups in the country. Following the spread of fake material, the Pakistani Taliban, also known as the Tehree-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), told the organizers of the march that “Fix your ways, there are still many young Muslims here who know how to protect Islam and the boundaries set by Allah.”
The spread of fake videos and images on social media suggesting that the organizers of the march had insulted Islam also found attention of the country’s courts. On March 26, a local court in Pakistan ordered the registration of a first information report (FIR) against the planners of the March for allegedly making “derogatory remarks” against Islam.

A resolution urging the private sector to either offer Covid-19 vaccine free of charge or on reduced price was passed in the Senate on Monday with a majority vote.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Senator Kamran Murtaza presented the resolution in the house that stated that citizens of all countries were either being vaccinated for free or at a fixed rate of Rs1,500. On the other hand, the Senator observed, the price of coronavirus vaccine has been fixed at Rs8,400 in Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The 30th session of the National Assembly (NA) will begin today (Saturday) during which Prime Minster Imran Khan will seek a vote of confidence from the House, Dunya News reported.
According to sources, the ruling coalition has 181 votes in the 341 members National Assembly while the opposition alliance has 160 votes. The Prime Minister will have to get 171 votes.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has 157 members in the National Assembly, while its allies include the MQM-P has seven seats, the PML-Q and the BAP have five seats each, All Pakistan Muslim League and the Jamhoori Watan Party have one seat each while two independent members are also on the side of the government.
