Whenever Duce Staley would pinball his way off tacklers on his way to one big run or another, the Veterans Stadium crowd would roar in delight, “DUUUCE!”
Perhaps the loudest chorus of “DUUUCE!” came in the 2002 NFC Championship Game, when he rumbled 20 yards for a touchdown before the game was even one minute old to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was the final at the Vet, one the Eagles lost to the Bucs.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen has been named the Pro Football Writers Association’s Most Improved Player for his impressive third season in the NFL. Allen is the first Buffalo Bills player to win this award since the PFWA started it in 2000.
Allen quarterbacked an offense who saw their average in points per game increase from 19.6 last season to 31.3 this season, which ranked second best in the league. In 2020, his offense also averaged the second-most yards per game (396.4) and third-most passing yards per game (288.8), which is a large improvement from ranking 24th in total yards (330.2) and 26th in passing yards (201.8) during the 2019 season.

Activity really starts accelerating on Wednesday as we draw closer to the NFC Championship Game. The first practices of the week, press conference zoom sessions galore brought about a lot of news and notes. Letâs get to âem as weâre just less than five days away from the 14-3 Green Bay Packers hosting the 13-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Lambeau Field with the winner representing the Conference in Super Bowl LV.
Head Coach Matt LaFleur doesnât want to alter the teamâs routine thatâs worked pretty well through a season ending five game winning streak, a playoff bye week and a victory over the Los Angeles Rams last Saturday.  Late in the year, he calls Wednesdays âa neck-up dayâ, with limited phsyical exertion and mainly individual drills.  Every rostered player took part including running back A.J. You can count Cam Newton as part of that group.
Things had started out promising for the quarterback and the year at large. Back in September, there was a time when Newton looked like a steal in free agency. There was also a time in February when people could just go to a store or restaurant without worrying about a six-foot safety perimeter.
Remember salad bars? Man, I miss salad bars.
Anyways, the Patriots are playing the Jets this weekend.
