Pratt City commissioners approve 21-page floodplain management ordiance

Fran Brownell Pratt Tribune Floodplain management and pipe needed for improved drainage at the Pratt Industrial Park topped the Pratt City Commission agenda at their regular meeting Monday, May 3 at City Hall Commission Chambers. Mayor Gary Schmidt presided with Commissioners Zach Deeds, Jeanette Siemens, Don Peters and Kyle Farmers all in attendance. Lola Shumway, who oversees floodplain management for the city, reviewed with commissioners the proposed 21-page floodplain management ordinance, which was unanimously adopted. Shumway said that the city’s rating will remain at the save level with a ranking of seven, which is a factor in flood insurance rates for property owners.

National awards meted out to Pratt Regional Medical Center for top care

This award is presented by the National Rural Health Association, and the slate of winners is a subset (the top-ranking 20) of The Chartis Center for Rural Health’s list of the Top 100 RCHs, which was released earlier this month. “Pratt Regional Medical Center is honored by the efforts of our physicians and staff who have contributed to the hospital achieving this designation,” said Susan Page PRMC President & CEO. “Given the vast challenges over the last year with the COVID-19 pandemic, our team is to be celebrated for their relentless dedication to our success.”

Community group brings urgent care center to Pratt with non-profit backing

First Street in Pratt. With a projected completion date of sometime in June 2021, Pratt Urgent Care Center supporters are ready to share with the community how urgent care differs from emergent care, and how this facility will connect the dots of care between people, processes and systems to fill a special niche.

Requested ordinance would preclude an outside entity from same service

Fran Brownell Pratt Tribune Pratt city commissioners have taken under advisement a request by Pratt Regional Medical Center administrators to pass an ordinance that would preclude outside competition to the PRMC’s new Urgent Care & Health Center facility at 1600 East First Street, currently under construction with a target opening date of June 1. Pratt Regional Medical Center President and Chief Executive Officer Susan Page and Amanda Vandervoort, director of health information management and clinic information technology for PRMC, addressed commissioners at their regular meeting, Monday, April 19 at City Hall Commission Chambers. Mayor Gary Schmidt presided with commissioners Zach Deeds, Jeanette Siemens, Don Peters and Kyle Farmer all in attendance.
