The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been banned from the shop and the whole of Barne Barton for a year. Magistrates first prohibited him from the estate in December after an earlier spree of offences. He faced Plymouth Youth Court again to admit possession of a kitchen knife in a play area near the Chard Road surgery in St Budeaux on April 7.

The boy vandal and shoplifter has also been barred from being on the street in a group of five people under 18. A judge has handed the youth a wide-ranging year-long Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court. He has also been effectively grounded for three months with a late-night curfew.
