Church plans for a shop on Lynn industrial estate
| Updated: 12:38, 07 April 2021
The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church is hoping to open a members-only shop on the Hardwick Narrows industrial estate, at Lynn.
Plans have been submitted to West Norfolk planners for the retail outlet to be set up in an unused industrial unit in Hereford Way.
The premises would be used for the wholesale delivery of mainly food and household goods to be sold only to the church community and to cross-fund the Brethren school charities at Swaffham. At present the nearest similar Brethren shop is at Dereham.
In the planning application for the change of use of the unit, the proposed outlet it is described as akin to a corner shop with floor space of only 235 square metres and will serve a members community of about 60 households. Turnover is about £8,000 a month net profit which will be transferred to fund OneSchool.
According to Southern Downs Mayor Vic Pennisi, investors are “knocking on our door” to build in the region and an influx of Warwick construction could be proof.

A massive Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery upgrade will get underway this year after a contentious council vote.
Narrowly voted in this January, the $4 million improvement would see a significant build-out on the northern and eastern sides of the existing gallery and the eastern side of the existing library.

Oxford County Community Health Centre was extremely grateful to receive another donation from the Tillsonburg Rapid Relief Team.
A non-profit organization set up and run by a team of volunteers from the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church to benefit local communities and other charitable activities, the local Rapid Relief Team generously donated 25 Christmas food boxes to OCCHC, which included all food items needed for a traditional Christmas meal. Each box included a ham, along with stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables and dessert.
