Hill was twice transported to the Blenheim police station to take blood tests, but refused. She tried wandering out on to the busy main road and an officer grabbed her elbow to keep her away from the busy traffic. She responded by slapping the police officer on the wrist. Hill was restrained by police and put in to the back of a patrol car. Police made more attempts to have Hill take a breath test, but she refused.

Tikitiki stole a wallet from Mitchell Sports. He went on to use it five times. He prised opened the container and stole what was inside and then left without being noticed. On November 7 at 11.40am Tikitiki returned to Greenbank Sheet Metal. This time, the business was closed, but a staff member was present. He made his way to the office and cash box and stole the cash inside, the summary said. As he left he was stopped by the staff member. Tikitiki said he was there to enquire about a wheelchair but left shortly after he was told they were closed.
