For the Record, Feb. 2, 2021   Havre Police Department Raymond Windyboy of Box Elder, 58, was arrested on a Justice or City court warrant served at 9:21 a.m. Monday in Havre. A Monday 10:47 a.m. caller at a Montana State University-Northern residence hall reported fraudulent activity on a bank account. Monday at 11:01 a.m., a caller at First Street and Seventh Avenue reported finding a bike left behind a recycle shed. A Fifth Street caller reported Monday at 5:56 p.m. that a garage lock had been tampered with. A summons was issued after a caller at a First Street business reported a disturbance with a spouse Monday at 6:20 p.m. No details were provided on the charges.

After 20 years, how do you say goodbye .   Stacy Mantle For the past 20 years, I have called the Havre Daily News my home, so nearly half of my life has been dedicated to putting out the best community newspaper possible, but while I celebrate this anniversary I am also announcing that, as of today, I have moved on to another pursuit. Though I am excited about the opportunities that await me in the future, it is with sadness that I say goodbye. My time here has been marked by both challenges and triumphs, and each has made me feel more invested in the success of the paper, its people and the community.

Turner students take advantage of dual enrollment

Turner students take advantage of dual enrollment   Last updated 1/28/2021 at 11:42am Junior and senior students at Turner High school have been attending dual enrollment courses this school year, earning both high school and college credits. Dual enrollment is offered every year in Montana and many students earn general education credits at a free or discounted rate while in high school. The classes are general education classes and in Montana the first two are free, after that the classes are reduced price from regular tuition.  Turner Public Schools Superintendent Tony Warren said dual enrollment gives students a chance to take an entry level class in a field they are.

MAT Youth Workshops

MAT Youth Workshops Beginning Monday, Montana Actors’ Theatre will be offering workshops for middle school and high school aged youth. The workshops will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. at Montana State University-Northern’s Little Theatre in Cowan Hall. The tentative workshop schedule is: February Auditioning, character development and basic movement April Costume design and construction May Intro to classical theatre, Shakespeare, and stage fighting September One acts: Writing, development and performance October Light and sound

Dodson schools sees COVID outbreak as vaccine rollout is underway Vaccination clinics being held, more scheduled   Havre Daily News/Colin Thompson COVID-19 vaccine slated for veterans on the Hi-Line is unloaded from shipment early Thursday morning at the Hill County/Havre Airport. A vaccination clinic was slated for veterans today at Merril Lundman Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Havre Holiday Village Mall and another clinic for people ages 70 and older was set up in the former Famous Footwear location in the mall. In the midst of COVID-19 vaccine being distributed for Phase 1B of the state rollout and local reservations also moving forward with vaccinations, a local school has had to shut down due to an outbreak of the disease.
