In the ongoing vaccination drive in the nation, Maharashtra on Saturday vaccinated 2,17,244 people through it 2,608 centres.
The cumulative COVID-19 vaccination in Maharashtra as of 7 am on April 25 is 1,42,30,213.
Meanwhile, amidst the ongoing discussions on free of cost vaccination in the country, Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik on Sunday announced that the state government will vaccinate all its citizens free of cost.
On Saturday, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that the state government will float a global tender for COVID-19 vaccines and Remdesivir injections.
As the Union government has allowed vaccination of people in the age group of 18 to 45, the state will start inoculation drive for this category from May 1, he said.

Talking to reporters, the NCP spokesperson and Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik said, “Anil Deshmukh is cooperating with the agencies.” With the CBI conducting searches on the premises of former Maharashtra Minister Anil Deshmukh, the NCP on Saturday said “nobody was above the law,” but added that the truth behind the “political conspiracy” against him and the State government would come out through the high court-ordered probe.
Talking to reporters, the NCP spokesperson and Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik said, “Nobody is above the law. Anil Deshmukh is cooperating with the agencies.” He said he was not aware if any FIR has been registered against Deshmukh.
