NIA records statement of ex-cop Pradeep Sharma in Vaze case

Former police inspector and encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma on Thursday appeared before the National Investigating Agency (NIA) for the second consecutive day in connection with the case of an explosives-laden SUV found near industrialist s Mukesh Ambani residence and the death of Thane based businessman Mansukh Hiran. Sharma visited the NIA office at Peddar Road after the agency summoned him to record his statement, officials said.
Sharma reached the NIA office around 1 pm and was likely to be confronted with suspended police officer Sachin Vaze and two other persons - bookie Naresh Gor and convicted police constable Vinayak Shinde, who were earlier arrested by the NIA in connection with its probe into Hiran s murder case, sources said.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 7 (ANI): Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh on Wednesday has been called by National Investigation Agency (NIA) to record a statement in Sachin Waze s case.
An NIA source had confirmed that statements of officers are being recorded to have clarity on the functioning of the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) and Sachin Waze in particular.
Parambir Singh is third in the series of senior Officers of Mumbai police who have been called by NIA to record statements.
Before him, two Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Parag Manere and Akbar Pathan have recorded their statements with NIA.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 7 (ANI): A National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Wednesday sent suspended Mumbai Police constables Vinayak Shinde and Naresh Dhare to the NIA s judicial custody till April 21 in connection with Mansukh Hiran s death case.
The NIA had earlier sought judicial custody of the two suspended cops arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad on March 21.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday filed an application before the special NIA court seeking permission to question suspended Mumbai Police officer Sachin Waze in connection with the corruption allegations against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh as part of its preliminary inquiry.
