New Delhi [India], April 5 (ANI): Hours after Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh submitted his resignation on moral grounds , Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Monday said Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has lost the moral responsibility to govern. I find it interesting that Anil Deshmukh has taken moral responsibility. Deshmukh in his letter said that he is giving his resignation on moral grounds. How about the responsibility of CM? Where is your morality? Uddhav Thackeray has forfeited the moral responsibility to govern, Prasad said.

Mumbai: Hours after the Bombay High Court ordered a preliminary probe by the CBI into corruption charges against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Monday, he submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Deshmukh met NCP chief Sharad Pawar, who also advised him to step down in the wake of the court order. Late on Monday, Governor BS Koshyari on accepted Deshmukhâs resignation.
âI do not have the moral right to continue in office after the court order. I have decided to quit. Kindly relieve me from my post,â his resignation letter said.

Mumbai, April 5 : Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has resigned from his post, hours after the Bombay High Court asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the corruption allegations levelled against him by former Mumbai Commissioner of Police Param Bir Singh, a top Nationalist Congress Party leader said here on Monday.
