MUMBAI: After the embarrassing arrest of police officer Sachin Waze by the National Investigation Agency, Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh is likely to by replaced soon.
In the talks Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had with NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Monday over the mishandling of the bomb scare attempt outside Mukesh Ambani’s residence and the death of Thane businessman Mansukh Hiren, both leaders agreed on sacking Singh.
The meeting went on for more than an hour at the chief minister’s official residence. A senior minister said it has now come to light that Waze had stage-managed the bomb scare on the instructions of Singh.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 17 (ANI): Hemant Nagrale has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Mumbai Police, replacing Param Bir Singh, announced the Maharashtra government on Wednesday
Singh has been given the responsibility of the Home Guards Department, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh informed in a tweet.
The decision came against the backdrop of the meeting between NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday. Earlier Deshmukh had said that appropriate action would be taken based on investigation agencies findings in the Antilia bomb scare case.

With the NIA zeroing on controversial Mumbai cop Sachin Vaze (now suspended) and the opposition BJP on Wednesday alluding “betting and extortion links between him and important persons in the government”, trouble is mounting for the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Aghadi in Maharashtra.
Under flak over “mishandling” of the bomb scare outside billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s residence, the Maharashtra government today replaced Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh with senior IPS officer Hemant Nagrale.
“Big decision of the government. Shri Hemant Nagrale will be the new Mumbai Police Commissioner. Shri Rajnish Seth will have the additional charge of the post of Director General of Police, Maharashtra.”
