A Progressive Conservative MLA is endorsing the auditor general s criticisms of a ranking system for school construction projects that saw a new school being built in the riding of Education Minister Dominic Cardy.

A proposed Child-care bill has gotten some push back from the opposition
Bill 3 would give the Education Department the power to collect personal information for an online registry of daycares, meaning – names, addresses, places of work, language preferences and dates of birth, as well as information about a child such as allergies, medications and other special requirements would be shared through the registry with the Health Department and the daycare operators
The Bill and online registry would allow for parents to look for available spaces in their area, register their children and calculate whether they’re eligible for financial support.

COVID update
another milestone with 1,025 cases since the pandemic began.
Public Health says half of the new cases are in the Edmundston/Grand Falls
region, six in the Moncton area; two in Saint John and one each in the
Fredericton and Campbellton health zones. (still no cases in the Miramichi.)
A new outbreak has also been declared at a special care home in Edmundston
where the province’s Rapid Outbreak Management Team has now been deployed.
There are now 317 active case of the virus in New Brunswick, including two
people in hospital…one of them in intensive care.
People’s Alliance Leader Kris Austin says he’s rethinking his role on an all-party COVID-19 committee because of inconsistent pandemic guidelines that he is finding hard to justify to New Brunswickers.
