WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - The Gaines Dental Hygiene Clinic at Midwestern State University will host âGive Kids a Smile Dayâ next week.
All dental services will be free on Monday, Feb. 15 and Tuesday, Feb. 16 for children ages 5 to 12 via appointments.
Appointments can be made for Monday at 8 a.m. and Tuesday at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The dental hygiene clinic is offering these free services primarily for the purpose of training students. Other services included at Gaines Dental are exposure of dental x-ray films, fluoride applications, sealants and plaque control instructions.

Midwestern State University graduate Megan Widner has some interesting advice for students following behind her. Avoid the easy path and instead, embrace the biggest challenge.
“Work towards something that may scare or intimidate you,” said Widner, who grew up in Iowa Park and felt completely at home at the Dillard College of Business Administration where she earned a BBA in Marketing.
Her advice to others is that goals that seem intimidating are the ones “that will have more significant gains. Starting on your work early on makes it a more enjoyable learning experience than rushing through to the finish.”

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - A Midwestern State University photographer has won a CASE Award for Photography.
The picture, called âThe Spirit,â was taken at Spirit of the Mustangs display in front of Centennial Hall by A J Lopez III, Assistant Director of Digital Marketing and Social Media at MSU Texas.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education District IV Accolades honored Lopez with the Grand Gold designation in the Individual Photography division.
The Case Awards recognize the best-of-the-best practices in educational advancement around the world.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - President Biden has proposed a bill that will increase the Federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $15, over a 4 year period.
However local Wichita Falls business owners say while they want the best for their employees, they are concerned that now is the right time or the right way to increase the minimum wages.
