Special Representative to the Prime Minister on Religious Harmony Maulana Tahir Ashrafi on Sunday stated that Eidul Fitr would be celebrated across Pakistan on the same day while the same would apply for the commencement of the holy month of Ramazan.
For the past several years, the nation had been surrounded by the controversy related to the sighting of the moon at the start and culmination of Ramazan. The disagreement divides the residents of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas from the rest of the country resulting in two different dates for the celebration of Eid. Addressing a news conference, Ashrafi observed that a meeting to sight the Ramazan moon had been called in Peshawar on Tuesday.

The Eid-ul-Fitr festival will be celebrated on the same day throughout the country this year, Special Representative of the Prime Minister on Religious Harmony Maulana Tahir Ashrafi said Sunday.
The special assistant, addressing a press conference, said the same would apply to the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
Controversy has traditionally surrounded the citing of the moon in the country every year at the start and culmination of Ramadan. The controversy splits Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas from rest of the country which results in two different dates for Eid in Pakistan.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Special Representative to the Prime Minister on Religious Harmony Maulana Tahir Ashrafi has urged the masses to strictly adhere to the coronavirus related SOPs during the upcoming Holy Month of Ramadan.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore on Sunday, he said people should wear masks to curtail further transmission of coronavirus. He said mosques and seminaries are now completely safe in the country.
Maulana Tahir Ashrafi said this year Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on the same day across the country.
